About the Event

The violent and incessant acts of white supremacy permeating the media are nothing new. Racial terrorism ranging from white people policing Black and Brown bodies to senseless violence to murder has been going on since this country’s inception. It’s only now, with technology and the diligence of bystanders, that white people are exposed to something that Communities of Color have always known. White supremacy kills and we as a country are steeped in it.

While the social outrage by white folks is necessary in gaining momentum and awareness, it’s not enough. Dismantling white supremacy demands ACTION and CHANGE. It demands that white folks do deep inner work in understanding our privilege and biases. It demands we step out of our comfort zones into messy conversations. And it demands all of us. Standing on the sidelines is no longer an option. There is no neutral.

Join Carrington Jackson and José Andrés San Miguel in a five-part series studying and discussing the book, “Me and White Supremacy - Combat Racism, Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor” by Layla F. Saad. Hosted virtually, through blue lotus yoga, each session will include discussion, journaling, reflection and homework.

Five week series Tuesdays: 7.21, 7.28, 8.4, 8.11, 8.18 7-8:15pm EST Class size is limited.

While it's important for this to be initiated and attended by white folks, it is open to EVERYONE.
